It was Established in 1875, named as Dhaka Medical School, the oldest medical school. Then Nawab Sir Salimullah named it after his name- Sir Salimullah Medical College. Now It’s the second top medical college in Bangladesh. Every year about 1.5 lacs students sit for entrance examination. Among them Almost 5300+ students get chance. And top 500+ ranked students can study this medical college. Every year a bunch of most talented doctors are passing out with their outstanding result.

The Admission test is also competitive.It requires above 90 percent marks in physics, chemistry, Math. After prelimiary selection, they appear for preliminary Mcq based exam.And from that 6000 selected students, about 1200+ students get chance after 400 marks written exam.I am very happy having chance to get admitted ther.Though for some reason,I didn’t continue there.

Admission test Ranking -442th in whole Bangladesh
Previously Ruet Cuet Kuet, three most well known renowned Engineering university took admission test separately.In 2020-21 session, two make it easier the process of admission test, they planned to take the exam combinedly. Almost same number of Candidates like Buet admission test appears and among them about 4000 students get chance to study in their preferred university.
I got selected and came up with 442th position.

In Bangladesh, Seocnd time medical admission test is one of the toughest and longest journey. As it deducts 5 marks when someone reappears for medical admission test, It is quite difficult to get chance. Beside this long time preparation is another factor. I appeared to just experience the hardship of the second timers while I am already studying in sir salimullah medical college. Inspite of deduction of 7.5 marks, I got chance in Rangpur medical college with the ranking of 2318
